This Girl Swims is the brain child of Becky Minogue, a passionate open water marathon swimmer and dipper. An STA qualified open water swim coach with extensive local knowledge and over fifteen years living and swimming around Perthshire, she can guide you to the best swim spots for your chosen activity.  From an introduction to open water to coaching you through your introduction to open water for your first event, or event and swimming technique for the experienced swimmer, Becky has the experience and local knowledge to make your open water experience enjoyable and fulfilling. Not to mention ensuring that it is safe and fun.

Becky offers various guided swim types depending on your level of experience and what you wish to gain. Explore our tailored plans and experiences below. If you are looking for something different, just be in touch! Please be in touch regarding pricing as all prices are tailored to your swim requirements, number of people in the group etc.

Introduction to Open Water

Are you looking to see what all the hype is about?  Do you want to try open water swimming but just don't know where to start? This session aims at giving you the best first experience of wild swimming and the knowledge so that you can create your own adventures from here on in! Must be able to swim 250m (10 lengths of a normal pool). Session will last around an hour and include use of tow floats, neoprene where required and hot drinks and snacks. The session is tailored to you.

Entry into Open Water

This session is tailored to proficient swimmers who need to transition from the Pool to Open Water. Ideal for triathlon transition, starting ironman training or starting open water distance swimming. includes introductory session and written training plans going forward.  It is expected that participant/s will have own kit. Session completely tailored to individual. Kayak support available if needed.

Guided Distance Swimming

There is nothing more satisfying than not having to turn at the end of the pool every few strokes. Contact us to talk though your training needs and let us put together a bespoke training plan that will build distance and speed in cold water. Costs per hour. Kayak support available.

Swim Trek

Do you fancy a day out with your family, a good walk, a picnic and some secret swim locations? Contact us to talk though what you are looking for and we will put together a bespoke package for you. 

About Me.

I'm Becky Minogue, an STA Open Water Swim Coach and Marathon swimmer with over 15 years of experience swimming in the stunning Rannoch area of Scotland. Come rain, shine, or snow, I'm in the water all year round. Open water swimming is more than just a sport for me—it's a lifestyle, and one I’m passionate about sharing with others.

Over the years, I’ve introduced countless people to the magic of wild swimming. I love helping others find confidence, calm, and connection in the water. The mental and physical health benefits are real—cold water immersion, fresh air, and that post-swim high are unbeatable.

My journey in the water has taken me across the UK, with big-distance swims under my belt, including the length of Coniston Water in the Lake District. More recently, I’ve also embraced the sport of Swimrun—an adventurous combination of open water swimming and trail running, moving through wild landscapes without changing gear. It’s a full-body challenge that brings an incredible sense of freedom and flow, and I love helping others discover its unique rhythm and rewards.

Whether you’re dipping your toes for the first time, training for a long-distance swim, or looking to get into Swimrun, tri or ironman, I’m here to help. My coaching style is friendly, safety-first, and full of encouragement. Everyone starts somewhere—and I believe that with the right support, anyone can fall in love with the open water.
